The UV filters utilised in our sunscreen products have a demonstrated safety record, and we can confirm that our Sun Care formulations do not contain the following chemical sunscreen filters and preservatives, which are commonly associated with coral bleaching: PABA, Octinoxate, Oxybenzone, 4-Methylbenzylidene Camphor and Butylparaben.
Further, these filters have been subject not only to our own stringent research, but also to comprehensive safety and toxicological review by regulatory agencies in Australia and Europe, among others, and have been determined to be safe for use in SPF formulations. For the most part, the ingredients utilised in our sunscreen products are biodegradable or readily biodegradable according to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s (OECD) guidelines.
Protective Body Lotion SPF50, Protective Facial Lotion SPF25 contain two UV filters—Octocrylene and Avobenzone—which have limited biodegradability. Despite this, there is no evidence to suggest that these highly effective sunscreen ingredients have any negative impact upon aquatic organisms or water systems.
